Ocifril 75mg Tablet XR may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
CAUTION
Ocifril 75mg Tablet XR is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.If you feel dizzy, tired, have blurred vision, have difficulty concentrating, or have other effects such as confusion, disorientation or your depression gets worse with Ocifril 75mg Tablet XR, do not drive.
There is limited information available on the use of Ocifril 75mg Tablet XR in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.Caution should be exercised in patients with underlying kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advised while you are taking this medicine.
CAUTION
Ocifril 75mg Tablet XR should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ocifril 75mg Tablet XR may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Regular monitoring of liver function tests is advisable when you are taking this medicine.

Ocifril 75mg Tablet XR is used in the treatment of depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder.It is used in patients intolerant of or unresponsive to alternative treatment options for depression.
How to use Ocifril Tablet XR
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ocifril 75mg Tablet XR is to be taken with food.
How Ocifril Tablet XR works
Ocifril 75mg Tablet XR increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression.
Common Sleepiness, Blurred vision, Dryness in mouth, Difficulty in urination, Constipation, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Weight gain, Increased heart rate.
Expert advice for Ocifril Tablet XR
The main dose should be taken at night as this drug may produce drowsiness or sleepiness. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for Ocifril to start working. You should continue the treatment for at least 6 months after you feel better to stop depression from coming back. If your doctor asks you to stop Ocifril, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. You should not discontinue it abruptly. Avoid driving or operating machinery as it may decrease alertness. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Ocifril, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness. The addiction/dependence potential of Ocifril is very less. It may be extremely dangerous in overdose.
